Skills training techniques to improve day-to-day life

Skills training involves identifying specific skills that are lacking or difficult, to then allow us to develop new skills to improve our everyday lives.

This could be skills for social interaction, relationships, medical regimens, or various other difficulties. Having the skills for these tasks means knowing how to achieve them, being able to use that knowledge to achieve them, and finding it easy to do so.

Skills training techniques are often highly structured and sessions will focus on specific behaviours that are directly relevant to real-world situations. Skills training techniques are used as part of our integrative approach to therapy and aim to helping individuals apply the skills they need to improve their day-to-day lives.
